Would anyone be interested in making an IRC tutorial?
I've used IRC a bit in the past, but it's been a while and I know that I could use a good crash-course. Also, it'd be nice to know the best channels to dl warez, mp3s, etc, etc.
Anyone interested in putting something like this together?

I've actually been using mIRC today (dl'ed GTA3 ISO in about an hour with it ;D ), so I'm getting my skills back. I still think an in-depth tutorial would be nice for people around here. The Tutorial section is one of my fave parts of this board (aside from all of the goodies that I dl).
I'll check that channel out later, QuiX.
Thanks.

Here's one - written by me, no not copied lol. Okay first what you need to do is get Invision. This is available at invision.lebyte.com . I like it because there are many other features there like automated xdcc and fserv setup and a pager program . Now, after you have installed it, click on the options button, then select DCC. Where it says 'On send request' select Auto Get File. Sure, this will open you up to some people sending viruses, but if you get something that says 'worm.exe' and you open it, then you're too stupid to be reading this tutorial. Now, click on the 'folders' subsection under DCC. Where it says 'DCC Ignore', put in disabled, and uncheck where it says 'Turn back on in x minutes'. There, now that feels better that you can actually receive files now doesn't it? Okay, now for the fun part..... b00tlegging copyrighted works!! w00t w00t lol. But now what you want to find out is exactly WHAT you want to download. A good place to find this info is at vcdquality.com and nforce.nl . After you find what you want, use xdccspy.com or packetnews.com to find a bot that has it. Then just click on the bot name (or whatever you have to do, maybe copy and paste..) and then the file will be queued/ sent immediately. Note that some of these xdccs don't work properly since the lame brianed scanners and xdcc hackers don't always test their bots!!!! Sorry about going on that rant. But now you know how to b00tleg like somewhat of a pro Some useful commands are: /server <server here> /list /msg <nick> <messgae> /whois <nick> /dns <nick> Check out my channel on irc.athenia.org on #DaALLIANCE Linoxx
