How do I set up an FTP server? I have ADSL provided by Earthlink, run a Windows XP machine. I would really like to set up an FTP so I can share some files with my friends. What program do I need to do that? Is it possible with my service? I can't even get MSN messenger file transfers to work so I am skeptical I will ever get it right. I would greatly appreciate any help, THANKS!

;D First you must get a FTP Host program, then you must configur you adsl connection so that you will be able to connect to the ftp host from the outside.
If you have an adsl connection whit a router on it, you will need to make some changes in the router configurration.
How to do this you can find out by contacting your adsl service provider.
I have had the same problem myself, so i had to use the telnet connection in windows to change some settings in the adsl router.
I hope that this answer will help you. ;D ;D ;D

Bullet Proof FTP, I have seen it. I don't have a router, I have this connection all to myself. I think Norton Internet Security is gumming up the works somehow, cause even when I disable it weird things happen. If I make you an account that means that we can trade files on the server I set up right? I am going to now try Bullet Proof, thanks for pointing me in the right direction.

ok, got it and cracked it. but how do I use it? lol. To bad there is no wizard to walk you through setting it up. I will just have to read the faq on their site. Hopefully this won't take to long.
